Great mat. Grippy when sweaty in hot yoga.

I chose this mat because it’s made of natural biodegradable materials, and it certainly gets points for that. It may be better for hot yoga, but I find the cork side has very little grip so I use the rubber underside, which has a bit of grip but nowhere near as much as a regular mat. I’ve had this one for 12 months and it is constantly shedding lots of tiny bits of rubber everywhere as it breaks down. I’m not sure what is better environmentally, a new biodegradable mat every year, or a non biodegradable mat that may last many years. I think I will buy a cheaper, grippier, longer lasting mat next time.
A very heavy mat if you’re traveling anywhere with it.
